For eleven years, Richard and Susan Schmaltz have been travelling to Guatemala to serve in a variety of endeavours. Most of their work has revolved around establishing child-centered education for Guatemalan children, and care of the most vulnerable.

Their programs have been very successful and grown. In 2011, the Circle of Oneness, was formed to work with Richard and Susan. The circle is made up of individuals who have worked with Richard and Susan in the Ottawa Valley and/or in Guatemala. Some of our Circle are retired educators, others retired from government and nursing, and all of us have been on Service Teams to Guatemala. The Circle meets monthly in support of Oneness Through Service – Guatemala.
In the spring of 2011 we formed a partnership with Horizons of Friendship , a Canadian NGO based in Cobourg, ON, which coordinates projects throughout Mesoamerica. Horizons administers The Oneness Fund for us (found under the pull down menu Fund/Designation: on the link) and provides tax receipts for donations in support of our programs. This partnership will allow for expanded service of Oneness projects in Guatemala.
