1. To continue to provide quality education for the poor children of the world by:
- setting up and equipping activity-centered classrooms
- promoting a "learning through play" approach
- emphasizing the building of self esteem, creativity, critical thinking and problem solving
- training local teachers in the basic philosophy of Early Childhood Education
- expanding the "Planting Seeds" methodology one grade at a time up through the system
2. To raise public awareness of the world-wide plight of the poor.
- to invite those who have served to share their stories.
- to provide articles from newspapers, magazines, Internet sites, etc. detailing the specific problems and needs of the poor
- to arrange for guest speakers to address issues of hunger, human rights violations, lack of educational opportunities, violence etc.
3. To provide information regarding possible opportunities to serve the poor
- to generate a list of possible placements
- to begin to network with existing organizations currently serving the poor, and to act as a liaison between agencies and perspective volunteers
- to search out these organizations
- to inform the organizations of our purpose
- to invite dialogue
- to clarify the desires of the volunteer
- to articulate the needs of the agencies
- to direct potential candidates to the appropriate organizations
4. To provide an opportunity for a service volunteer experience by:
- organizing and leading service teams for
- medical/dental service
- classroom/school/furniture construction
- set up schools etc
- encouraging, involvement and active participation in the pursuit of one's personal goals.
- facilitating training to prepare prospective candidates for their volunteer experience
- providing a community house for volunteers wishing to join our teams of service and/or other works of service to the poor
